A pregnant woman shared her frustration about not being allowed to cut in line during a long wait at a restaurant.

It’s well-known that expectant mothers face challenges and obstacles in their daily routines. As their bellies grow, they naturally become more tired and exhausted quickly.

Because of this, various facilities are provided for pregnant women in public places. For instance, they are given priority seating on public transportation.

Pregnant Woman Waits in Long Queue for Steamboat

Recently, a post went viral on X (Twitter @Cikgu_Anep) showing a pregnant woman amidst a busy scene at a restaurant. The patrons were queuing up to pay for their chosen steamboat dishes, including the pregnant woman.

In her caption, the woman wrote, “POV: You’re a pregnant woman in Malaysia. No manners at all (from the locals).”

She was clearly unhappy with the treatment she received, noting that she was not allowed to cut the queue despite standing for a long time while pregnant. “And also no sympathy. I would be given a pass to skip the line or a chair to sit if this was abroad,” she added.

Man Questions Why Pregnant Woman Chose Busy Restaurant

However, the account owner, Cikgu Anep, had a different view of the situation. He questioned the whereabouts of the woman’s husband and why she chose to go to such a busy restaurant in the first place.

He also pointed out that not everyone can tell if a woman is pregnant or just has a larger body size.

Public Reactions Vary on the Situation

In the comments section, people shared different opinions about the situation. One individual mentioned that they would bring their own chair to sit on if needed.

“As someone with knee pain, I don’t complain on social media about not having a chair when I have to queue. I bring my own chair, end of story,” said a user on X.

Others agreed with Cikgu Anep, noting that most people can’t always distinguish between a pregnant woman and someone who is just bigger in size.

“Not everyone knows she’s pregnant. I once offered my seat on the MRT to a woman I thought was pregnant, but she wasn’t. She felt embarrassed because she thought she looked fat, and I felt bad for unintentionally body-shaming her,” shared another netizen.

Meanwhile, some individuals agreed that the pregnant woman shouldn’t have gone to a place with such a long queue.

“You don’t even need to be pregnant. If I see a long, crowded queue, I wouldn’t bother eating there,” said one woman.

Due to the large crowd, one netizen also suggested that people might not have even noticed the pregnant woman in the first place.
