Bride & Groom Opt for “Breakfast Wedding”, Netizens Love the Idea

Couple’s “Breakfast Wedding” in Genting Wins Over Netizens

Wedding receptions in Malaysia are usually held in the afternoon, giving guests time to get ready and travel to the venue. But one couple decided to take a different approach—and it’s got everyone talking.

In a TikTok video that recently went viral, a newlywed couple is seen hosting their wedding reception in the morning instead of the traditional midday slot, adopting a charming breakfast wedding concept.

From Kuih to Coffee: A Full Breakfast Spread

The reception featured a variety of morning favourites, including traditional kuih-muih, hot coffee, tiramisu cake, and other light treats—perfectly suited for the early time slot.

What made it even more appealing was the location: Genting Highlands, known for its cool and refreshing weather ranging from 14°C to 25°C. Despite being held outdoors, guests appeared completely comfortable, with no sign of sweating or discomfort.

Cozy Atmosphere, Minimalist Decor

The event’s decor was minimalist yet tasteful, adding to the calm and elegant vibe of the entire morning. Guests could be seen enjoying their breakfast while chatting leisurely in a peaceful setting, unlike the often-hectic atmosphere of crowded traditional wedding feasts under the midday sun.

Netizens Impressed, Inspired to Try It Themselves

Following the video’s virality, many netizens expressed admiration for the couple’s creativity. Some even said they were inspired to have a similar breakfast wedding for their own future celebrations.

Others praised the practicality of the concept, noting that morning receptions may be more cost-effective, with lighter menus and reduced need for cooling equipment like fans or air conditioning—especially in a naturally cool location like Genting.

Some even showed interest in hiring the same wedding planner to recreate the vibe and efficiency of the event.
