“I Help Save Marriages” – Divorce Coach Clarifies His True Mission

Divorce Coach Goes Viral After Appearing With Uqasha Senrose

A man known as Malaysia’s Divorce Coach became the talk of social media after a video of him accompanying actress Uqasha Senrose at the Kuala Lumpur Syariah Lower Court on October 28 went viral.

It was later revealed that Uqasha, who is reportedly facing marital issues with her husband, actor Kamal Adli, is one of his clients.

The viral clip sparked mixed reactions online. Many were surprised to learn such a profession exists, while others criticized the coach, assuming his job was to encourage couples to separate.

“I Don’t Teach People To Divorce, I Help Them Save Their Marriage”

Addressing the misunderstanding, the man whose real name is Mohd Izary Muhammed Ikhbal, stepped forward to clarify the real purpose behind his work.

“Some people even called me dasim, a spirit said to destroy marriages, and accused me of promoting divorce. I do not blame them because they just do not understand what I actually do. My goal is to help save marriages, not destroy them,” he told Harian Metro.

The 45-year-old used to work in the financial sector for over two decades before switching careers in October 2024 to offer guidance and advice to couples considering divorce.

Experienced Divorce Twice, Now Helping Others Rebuild

According to Izary, he felt called to help others after experiencing divorce himself twice.

“I have been divorced twice. My first marriage ended in 2006, and now I am in my third marriage, which has lasted 12 years,” he explained.

He added that before becoming a professional coach, he often advised friends and acquaintances facing marital issues to reconsider their decisions. Encouraged by those around him, he eventually turned this experience into a formal coaching practice, seeing it as a way to turn his personal pain into purpose.

His clients now come not only from Malaysia but also from abroad, with most sessions conducted online.

Supported By His Wife As A Female Advisor

Interestingly, Izary does not work alone. His current wife, Ungku Zuraida Ungku Izzat, plays an important role as a female advisor, helping provide insights from a woman’s perspective.

“My approach starts with listening. I hear my clients out, then guide them based on their situation and my personal experiences. The first step is always to correct their mindset about marriage,” he said.

“I never encourage divorce. I simply help them reflect, see things clearly, and realize what is really happening in their relationship.”

He also shared that many clients have expressed positive feedback after going through his coaching sessions.

“Some couples were already planning to file for divorce but changed their minds the next day after our session. There were also women who were deeply traumatized by divorce but eventually found the courage to remarry, all with God’s will,” he said.
