A recent viral video on social media captured a woman crashing her ex-husband’s wedding, handing him court documents and accusing him of skipping legal proceedings without a valid reason.
The dramatic moment triggered wide online debate, with netizens questioning the man’s integrity and legal responsibility. However, the groom — known only as Wan — has now spoken up to share his side of the story.
Wan Says He Paid Child Support as Ordered by Court
Wan stated that he and his ex-wife have been divorced for two years. During that time, he claims she has frequently posted on social media about their personal matters.
“According to what she posted, there are five lawsuits against me. But yesterday I only signed two documents: one about RM33,000 in alleged spousal support arrears and another seeking to increase the child support amount,” Wan explained.
The ex-wife allegedly demanded RM1,500 per child, or RM3,000 monthly for both children, compared to the current RM900 agreed upon previously.
Spousal Support Claim Dropped, Says Wan
Wan emphasized that the RM33,000 spousal support claim was dismissed due to suspected incomplete document service.
He also stated that all previous cases — including child support, iddah support, and spousal support — had been resolved by November 2024.
“I have never defaulted. I will attach all receipts for the RM900 monthly payments, made consistently as ruled by the court.”
Police Report Filed, Reputation Affected
Wan added that he has filed a police report regarding the incident and will leave the matter to the authorities to investigate.
He also expressed concern that the viral incident had negatively affected not only his own career, but also that of his new wife.
