“Stop Embarrassing This Sport” – Jojo Ghazali Calls Out Yusuf Azmi

Jojo Ghazali Calls Out Yusuf Azmi Over Fight Promotion

Social media has been buzzing in recent days after several videos surfaced showing two fighters from Malaysia and Indonesia engaging in heated exchanges ahead of the upcoming Warzone World Championship (WWC) International Influencer Super Lightweight Champion, scheduled for December 6 and 7.

Among those featured in the videos is Malaysian influencer Yusuf Azmi, who is set to participate in the event. However, his behavior and approach to promoting the match have drawn criticism from professional Muay Thai athlete Jojo Ghazali.

“Stop Embarrassing This Sport, Sir”

Jojo left a sharp comment under Yusuf Azmi’s post, expressing his frustration with how the event is being marketed.

“Stop embarrassing this sport, sir. I’m not trying to be rude to an elder, but if an elder acts like a child, who’s going to respect him? My family and I, along with many others in the combat sports community, have been in this field long before you came.

“We built Muay Thai from zero. You only came in when it became hype, and now you’re ruining it. Don’t underestimate the audience, they’re not stupid enough to believe this kind of trash gimmick. You act religious, but don’t you think kids watching this will be influenced, especially with what’s happening in Malaysia now?” Jojo wrote.

He added that people should find solutions, not create problems, and reminded Yusuf that combat sports should not be used for cheap publicity or easy profit.

“Look At The Bigger Picture Of This Sport”

Jojo’s criticism stems from his disapproval of individuals who use the name of combat sports purely for entertainment or personal marketing.

He urged Yusuf to look at the sport from a broader perspective and to understand the years of effort and discipline that true athletes have invested in building the sport’s credibility.

As the hype around Muay Thai grows in both Malaysia and Indonesia, Jojo believes such antics could damage the reputation of the sport in the eyes of the public.

Johan Ghazali Also Spoke Against Similar Issues

This is not the first time such criticism has surfaced. Malaysian Muay Thai champion Johan Ghazali has previously voiced disappointment over the trend of influencers and celebrities joining combat sports without respecting its values.

Johan also publicly criticized event organizers and participants who, in his view, degrade the integrity of the sport for social media attention.
