MALAYSIAN TALENT MAKES MARK IN MARVEL’S FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS
A Malaysian Name in Marvel’s Most Anticipated Film
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film Fantastic Four: First Steps, directed by Matt Shakman, is one of the most eagerly awaited titles among fans. But what makes it even more special — especially for Malaysians — is the involvement of a local name in its production.
Ahmad Hamidullah Earns Credit in End Credits
Ahmad Hamidullah, a Malaysian creative professional, recently shared his pride and gratitude after spotting his name in the film’s end credits. He took to Threads to express what a personal milestone this was for him.
“Alhamdulillah. Another year, another Marvel movie. This time getting a credit in Fantastic 4,” he wrote.
His Role in the Post-Production Process
Ahmad’s contribution lies in the post-production phase, where he and his team at Base FX worked on critical elements of the film, particularly in scenes featuring the underground world of Moleman in Subteranea.
KL Team Behind Marvel’s Underground Visuals
In the comments section of his post, he elaborated on his role:
“Yes, post-production. A couple of movies and TV series, I specifically make textures. KL team mainly handles 3D assets. For Fantastic 4, this is mainly a scene for Moleman, Subteranea. We do a lot of retro, underground scenes.”
A Meaningful Recognition After Years in the Industry
Ahmad also shared that while he had been involved in previous Marvel projects, this was the first time his name appeared clearly in the credits — a moment that holds special significance for any creative in the film industry.
Base FX and Malaysian Representation in Hollywood
He hinted that more updates and opportunities might be shared soon, saying:
“The name of the company is near the picture. Base FX. There will be an opportunity later, God willing, I will share it.”
A Proud Moment for Malaysian Creatives
This accomplishment reflects not only Ahmad’s individual journey but also the growing presence of Malaysian talent in global cinematic productions. It’s a proud moment for the nation and a reminder that our local creatives are more than capable of reaching Hollywood-level recognition.
NasiLemakDaily congratulates Ahmad on this remarkable achievement and looks forward to seeing more Malaysians contribute to international films in the future.
