With 7 kids and 17 grandkids, Dr. Muharam has already lived quite the life. But you know what they say – age is just a number, and this grandpa is proving it true. His thirst for knowledge is so real that he decided to dive into the world of Malay Literature and earn himself a doctorate. 

Now, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Dr. Muharam. Picture this: a grandpa battling technology, dealing with cataracts, and doing the Melaka to Bangi commute. The struggle was real, especially in the early stages when he had to face off with that pesky computer. 

He spilled the tea, saying, “I had a hard time with the computer. It was tough.” And if that’s not enough, he had to call in reinforcements – his child from Batu Pahat, Johor, had to type out his thesis. Talk about a family effort! 

But it didn’t end there. Cataracts decided to join the party, making it hard for him to read current literature for his research. “Blurry eyes and a thesis don’t mix,” he joked. After cataract surgery last May, his vision cleared up, and he aced that thesis. 

Before his scholarly pursuits, Dr. Muharam was a school teacher, sharing his wisdom with the young minds of tomorrow. Now, he’s the grandpa with a PhD, and he couldn’t have done it without his supportive wife and kids. 

Let’s give it up for Dr. Muharam Awang, the grandpa who faced down technology, cataracts, and a long commute – all to conquer that PhD. Who says grandpas can’t be cool and brainy at the same time? You rock, Dr. Muharam!
