Controversial businessman, Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri, faced criticism once more from online users after he posted a new Raya song called ‘Love Raya’ on his personal Instagram account since Sunday.

In the video, he and some dancers wore tight and peculiar costumes and performed dances seen as inappropriate during the holy month of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Aliff Syukri’s mother, Rozita Ibrahim, admitted feeling ashamed and disappointed by the video released shortly after he uploaded it.

Many social media users expressed their anger and disgust, considering Aliff Syukri’s actions disrespectful to Ramadan’s sanctity.

One user, @PejuangPH, called upon Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil, to intervene. ” @fahmi_fadzil, can’t you prevent such content from entering the music industry? It’s embarrassing for our country,” the user wrote.

Another user, @ciklaen, urged the government, particularly the Ministry of Communications, to block the music video from all social media platforms. “When will it be banned? In the past, an artist who took off his shirt during a concert got banned from television. This one should face the same consequence; let’s boycott such videos,” they said.

User @hannahwho suggested stricter actions against Aliff Syukri, noting his history of controversial videos. “Hasn’t he been reprimanded by religious authorities for his Raya music videos before? Why is he becoming more audacious? The dancers in the video seem desperate for Raya money. Authorities should take firm action and boycott Aliff Syukri,” they wrote.
