Singaporean Ah Long Allegedly Hires Runner to Hurl Petrol Bomb in Kepong, Sends Chilling Footage to Debtor

Loan Shark Allegedly Sends Petrol Bomb Attack to Intimidate Female Debtor in Kepong

In a horrifying act of intimidation, a woman living in a rented house in Kepong became the target of a petrol bomb attack—allegedly orchestrated by a Singaporean loan shark.

The attacker, believed to be a hired runner, threw a petrol bomb into the porch of the woman’s home. The incident was filmed from a nearby car by an accomplice and later sent to the victim as a threat.

The Threat Came with a Video Message

The matter was made public by Kepong MP and Democratic Action Party (DAP) representative, Lim Lip Eng. In a Facebook post on 14 April, Lim shared details of the incident and stood with the victim to demand immediate action from the police.

“The victim received a video of the attack, accompanied by a threat that she would be harassed daily if she failed to repay her debt,” he said.

Singaporean Ah Long Allegedly Behind the Attack

According to the victim, she believes the person behind the attack is a Singaporean loan shark. The method of intimidation—filming the arson and sending it as a message—has sparked fears of increasing lawlessness.

A police report has been filed, and authorities are currently investigating.

Lim urged the authorities to act swiftly: “The mastermind and all parties involved must be arrested and punished to the full extent of the law.”

“Don’t Let KL Become a Haven for Loan Sharks”

Lim also stressed that Kuala Lumpur should not become a safe space for illegal lenders to operate with impunity.

“This is not the first time we’ve seen such incidents. Last week in Puchong, a similar petrol bomb attack occurred, injuring a pet dog. These cases show a disturbing trend of escalating violence,” he said.

While the arsonist in Puchong made no attempt to hide his identity, the attacker in Kepong had their face fully covered.

Authorities are being urged to track down the perpetrators and prevent further acts of terror by such loan shark syndicates.
