Residents in Senawang are being urged to stay alert after a wild sun bear was spotted wandering into a populated residential compound at night.
Sun Bear Spotted Near Taman Tuanku Jaafar Golf Resort
A viral video has captured a rare encounter with a wild sun bear in a parking area next to trees and a wooden gazebo inside a compound in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan. Unseen onlookers filmed the animal from behind parked cars while shining a flashlight in the dark.
Footage shows the bear damaging a gazebo roof while searching for food, as voices heard in the recording point out the animal and remark on it looking for something to eat.
Residents Warned to Watch Out for Their Children
The footage was shared alongside a public warning directed at residents living near Taman Tuanku Jaafar Golf Resort, especially around Kasia Ville. Locals were told to stay careful after a resident heard footsteps outside while relaxing, initially mistaking the sound for a prowling burglar before discovering a sun bear instead.
The area is known to have many young children playing outside, raising safety concerns among locals regarding the unexpected wildlife intrusion.
