Things got heated up during shopping when two women tourists argued with a fruit seller on Hang Buom and Hang Duong streets, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, Vietnam, on Sunday.
A viral video on social media since Monday showed the incident sparked because the trader allegedly charged too much for three pineapples.
They were charged RM94 (VND500,000) for the fruits they bought.
Unable to stand the ongoing argument, a male visitor at the scene stepped in to clarify the actual price with the trader.
The trader then admitted that the actual price for three pineapples was only RM9.40 (VND50,000).
The man also asked the seller to return the RM94 to the two tourists.
However, the tense situation continued during the refund session before both women left the scene.
At the same time, they were seen leaving without taking the three pineapples they bought.
Following this, the authorities in Hoan Kiem, Hanoi are reportedly investigating the viral incident.
This comes after the incident caused dissatisfaction among the public.
The Chairman of the Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee said the local authorities have directed the police to investigate the incident.
