M’sian Woman Used by Foreign Husband to Start Business, Discovers He Has Two Other Wives
She gave him love. He gave her lies.
A Malaysian woman has opened up about the heartbreak and betrayal she experienced after marrying a foreign man who allegedly used her name to register a business with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM). She now regrets leaving her first husband for someone she claims manipulated her for personal gain.
Speaking anonymously to Harian Metro, the woman recounted how she met her second ex-husband — a Pakistani national who operated a furniture store — through frequent interactions at the foreign-owned restaurant next to hers.
“The connection turned into love,” she shared. “Eventually, I asked for a divorce from my first husband and married this man, who told me he was single. In the beginning, everything seemed fine. He never once brought up his business.”
Used for SSM registration and business expansion
But things took a turn when her second husband began showing controlling behaviour. His jealousy escalated, and he started persuading her to register a business license under her name. He claimed it was to help grow his furniture enterprise in Malaysia.
“Because I loved him, I followed everything he asked. After getting the license and registering the business, the company took off and made big profits,” she explained.
However, the illusion of a happy marriage crumbled when she discovered a shocking truth — he had a wife back in Pakistan, and he had even married another foreign woman after her.
“It turned out he already had a wife in his country. Then he married another woman after marrying me. I felt completely used. He got what he wanted — the license, the profits, and then started lying and cheating,” she said.
Manipulated emotionally and financially
Feeling betrayed and emotionally drained, she filed for a second divorce. But her ex-husband allegedly pleaded with her not to cancel the business license, fearing he would lose access to the lucrative business.
“He kept begging me not to revoke the license. I allowed him to continue using it for a while and he paid me ‘rent’ to do so, but now I plan to cancel it. I don’t want him to benefit anymore from using my name,” she concluded.
Her story stands as a painful reminder to be cautious, even in love — especially when paperwork, profits, and trust are involved.
