Malaysians get upset when outsiders claim our stuff, like our food, as theirs. So, when a foreign traveler said Malaysia isn’t Malaysian anymore, maybe because of lots of foreign workers, locals didn’t like it.

A UK traveler, Abzventure, showed his time in Malaysia on YouTube. He found a Bangladeshi man selling Ramly burgers in Jalan Alor, Kuala Lumpur.

He wrote, “Is this the best burger in the world? Join me as I explore the vibrant Jalan Alor street food market in Kuala Lumpur and try the famous Ramly burger for the very first time!”

“This Malaysian street food staple is known for its unique preparation and delicious taste. Watch as I dive into the layers of this iconic burger, share my thoughts, and chat with the locals about what makes the Ramly burger a must-try in KL.”

In his video, he said, “Malaysia is not Malaysian anymore. It’s Bangladesh, trust me,” when he saw the person selling the Ramly burgers was Bangladeshi. He edited this part out later, but Malaysians still saw it on social media.

“Words that I find the most heartbreaking to hear: ‘Malaysia is not Malaysian anymore; it’s Bangladesh,’ this Bangladeshi influencer said. Which area is this? How do you guys feel about this? Where is the enforcement?” @Vandeeta3 tweeted.

It’s unclear if the traveler is Bangladeshi too.

What do you think of the traveler’s statement? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
