The chemistry between renowned comedian Zizan Razak and actress Emma Maembong in the latest Raya campaign for the fashion brand Hijabistahub has caught the attention of many.

Just Friends, No Special Relationship

Addressing netizens’ speculation, Zizan, whose full name is Mohd Razizan Abdul Razak, emphasized that their relationship is purely friendly.

According to him, both he and Emma were simply carrying out their professional duties as the campaign’s ambassadors.

“I respect my job. What happened between Emma and me was strictly professional. We did it for work.

I also respect Emma’s position after her divorce and the fact that she has a boyfriend. I was a bit concerned about any misunderstandings, especially since I was on good terms with her ex-husband. But at the end of the day, it was all about work,” he explained.

Zizan also mentioned that they hadn’t met in person for a long time but had remained in contact for work-related matters.

He shared these details during a press conference at Hijabistahub’s new headquarters launch and the unveiling of its “Raya Paling Epik” campaign in Setia Alam last Saturday.

Apart from Zizan and Emma, the brand also introduced two popular Indonesian celebrities, Fuji and Davina, as its main ambassadors. Additionally, Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri was announced as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hijabistahub.

Unbothered by Netizens’ ‘Approval’ of Their Chemistry

Regarding netizens who “approved” of their onscreen chemistry, Zizan stated that he had no issues with it as long as things didn’t go overboard.

“I don’t mind, because I know this is the social media era. If people want to ‘approve’ our chemistry, why not just go along with it?

We’re not enemies, and we’re doing this for good. But let’s not overdo it,” he said.

Previously, their interactions in the campaign sparked discussions among netizens, with some even hoping they would rekindle their past romance.

For context, Zizan and Emma dated for two years before breaking up in 2015.

Emma later married Muhammad Shazli Azhar on February 20, 2020, but announced their divorce on October 7 last year.From their marriage, Emma and Shazli have two children, Shariq Gabriel (5 years old) and Shakil Aryan Shah (2 years old).
