Singaporean mother appeals to public to help locate missing son believed to be in Malaysia

A Singaporean woman is pleading for public assistance to locate her 7-year-old son, who she believes was unlawfully taken to Malaysia by her ex-husband.

Daylin Limonte Alvarez, the mother of the missing child named Caleb, has been actively using social media and online platforms to raise awareness about her son’s disappearance since May 2024.

She has created a website and several social media accounts under the name Help Find Caleb, where she shares photos, updates, and emotional messages, clinging to hope that her son will be found.

According to The Straits Times, Alvarez last saw Caleb when her ex-husband picked him up for a scheduled weekend visitation in May 2024. Since then, she has been unable to contact either of them.

Alvarez stated that she was awarded full custody of Caleb after their divorce in 2021, with her ex-husband granted only weekend visitation rights.

She also noted that her ex-husband had possession of Caleb’s passport, which led her to believe that they had left Singapore without her consent.

Immigration records confirmed that Caleb and his father crossed into Malaysia on 27 May 2024 and have not returned since.

A statement published on the Help Find Caleb website reads: “Caleb was illegally taken without the knowledge or permission of his mother, and against Singapore Court Orders.”

“To this day, I don’t know where my son is or whether he’s safe,” Alvarez shared.

She said she has pursued every available option in both Singapore and Malaysia, but her son’s location remains unknown.

Despite the emotional toll, she continues to reach out to the public, appealing for any information regarding Caleb or his father’s whereabouts. She urges anyone who may have seen them to come forward.
