Malaysian Man Feeds And Cares For Stray Dogs Every Morning Before Work

Malaysian Feeds Stray Dogs Daily Before Work, Calls It a Joy

While most people hit snooze at 7.30am, Kris is already out feeding stray dogs near his office — something he’s done every day for the past decade.

One Mama Dog Changed Everything

Ten years ago, Kris wasn’t looking to become a stray animal rescuer. But one morning, a pregnant dog gave birth right in front of his workplace — literally, on the road.

Instead of ignoring it, Kris picked her and her puppies up, and brought them to safety. That small act of kindness would eventually grow into a lifelong commitment.

“From those beginnings, I just became aware of the number of strays roaming near my workplace and started feeding them,” he told SAYS.

A Routine That Starts with Compassion

These days, Kris cares for 14 animals — seven at home and seven around his office area. His daily routine includes feeding strays at 7.30am with a friend, who helps distribute the food.

The strays? They already know him. Whether it’s the sound of kibble or just his presence, they come running.

Some dogs have disappeared over time. Two were adopted after medical treatment, including one who underwent hip surgery. Others were sadly poisoned. Now, just two regulars remain, along with a new mama dog and her puppies.

More Than Food: Medicine, Care, and Love

Feeding strays isn’t just about tossing them a meal. Kris goes further — he personally applies medication for skin issues, mites, and ticks.

“It’s just a joy to feed and care for them,” he said, like it’s the simplest thing in the world.

And when it comes to dog food, he keeps it practical. Kris buys affordable pellets from the SPCA, mixes them with leftovers, and shapes them into homemade dog-friendly meatballs.

A Kitten Walked In. He Tried to Find It a Home.

Kris’s kindness isn’t limited to dogs. One day, a stray kitten wandered into his office. Without hesitation, he tried to rehome it.

“Do you want a kitten? She’s a cutie,” he joked during the interview.

In total, Kris has helped rescue and rehome more than 20 stray animals. Some went to friends, others to colleagues — but all found a better life thanks to him.

No Excuses. Just Doing the Right Thing.

When asked about the challenges, Kris doesn’t complain. If it rains? He brings an umbrella. If someone grumbles? He talks it out. If it costs too much? He shrugs.

“Don’t worry about it,” he says.
“Not tough at all,” he adds when asked if the work is exhausting.

For Kris, this isn’t a mission or a moral statement. It’s just what he believes is right.

“As long as there’s a hungry dog on that street in the morning, I’ll keep showing up.”

A Movement for Kindness

Kris’s efforts align with Execute AWA, a nationwide movement urging Malaysia to enforce existing Animal Welfare Act laws and create a more compassionate society for animals.

While many people talk about helping, Kris quietly does it — every single day.
