“One Of Ramadan’s Tests” – Commuters Furious As Rapid KL LRT Kelana Jaya Line Breaks Down For 4th Straight Day

Four Days, Same Problem

Commuters on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line are running out of patience after enduring four consecutive days of service disruptions.

What was meant to be a normal weekday commute during Ramadan has turned into repeated delays, packed platforms and long waiting times.

On 26 February, Rapid KL once again announced a service disruption, citing technical issues as the cause.

Technical Faults Trigger Peak-Hour Chaos

According to Rapid KL’s official updates, a train was withdrawn from service at Putra Heights Station due to a technical fault. The removal temporarily affected train frequency, with adjustments made automatically to fill the operational gap.

But that was not the end of it.

Around 9:30 AM, another train was reportedly taken out of service at Dato’ Keramat Station for similar technical reasons, worsening congestion during peak hours.

Passengers were advised to expect heavier crowding at interchange stations.

MRT Kajang Line Also Affected

The disruption was not limited to the Kelana Jaya Line.

The MRT Kajang Line, which connects Kwasa Damansara to Kajang, also faced delays due to a points switch issue between Kwasa Damansara and Kwasa Sentral.

With both lines experiencing problems on the same morning, commuters found themselves navigating widespread rail network disruptions across the Klang Valley.

“One Of Ramadan’s Tests”

Frustration quickly spilled onto social media.

One Threads user described the situation as “one of Ramadan’s tests,” encouraging others to stay patient and accept the situation.

“I urge everyone to accept this fate because, in acceptance, God always eases things,” the user wrote.

However, not all reactions were calm.

Some passengers shared concerning experiences, including reports of trains braking abruptly, causing commuters to lose balance. One individual claimed a passenger injured his hand during one such sudden stop.

Another commuter alleged that the train failed to stop at Abdullah Hukum LRT station, forcing him to board another train to return to his intended destination.

Growing Concerns Over Reliability

With four straight days of disruptions, many are questioning the reliability of public transport during critical hours.

For daily commuters, especially during Ramadan when energy levels are lower and schedules tighter, repeated breakdowns have become more than just an inconvenience.

They are now a test of endurance.
