A man dressed in high-end designer clothing made off with a Rolex watch worth approximately RM64,000 from a second-hand luxury store in Subang Jaya, Selangor, on Saturday, 23 November.
The incident occurred around 10.40am when the suspect approached the shop just as two female employees were unlocking the premises in SS16.
According to Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, the man entered the store and initially posed as a genuine customer, inquiring about several items. However, he abruptly claimed he needed to pick up his employer and left the store in haste.
Employees Discovered the Theft Hours Later
While one of the employees was on the phone, the suspect discreetly stole a Rolex Datejust 36 Oystersteel and Yellow Gold from the display rack. Shockingly, the theft went unnoticed until about four hours after he had left.
Although the store lacked a CCTV system, one of the employees managed to capture a photo of the suspect using her phone, according to China Press.

The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which pertains to theft. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Subang Jaya District Control Centre at +603-78627222 or the investigating officer, Muhammad Fathurrahman Ampandi, at +6011-29395178.
