A Malaysian man raised questions about apparent favoritism when DBKL officers clamped his friend’s Perodua Bezza for illegal parking, while luxury cars nearby were left untouched.

In a viral TikTok video shared by @thenshijin, Clinton was seen confronting DBKL officers after they issued a notice and clamped a Bezza parked on the roadside. His issue wasn’t with the clamping itself, but with the fact that several other luxury cars parked nearby were ignored.

“Why didn’t this car get clamped?”

Clinton, who was there witnessing the incident, couldn’t help but ask the officers why the other vehicles, which were parked illegally, were not clamped. “For some reason, this car doesn’t get clamped, that car in front doesn’t get clamped, but our car got clamped? Does driving an expensive car mean I can break the rules?” he questioned in the video.

Clinton later clarified in an interview that he was not the owner of the Bezza but was there with his friend whose car was clamped.

No Answers from DBKL Officers

Despite his efforts to get an explanation, Clinton said the DBKL officers remained silent and gave him no response to his inquiries. “I asked them why did they ignore the expensive cars and leave them unclamped. They just kept quiet and gave me looks,” he added.

The issue didn’t end there. Clinton and his friend waited after paying the fine to have the Bezza unclamped. They hoped to see if the officers would clamp the other cars, but as they observed, the officers did nothing.

Paying for the Mistake, but Unanswered Questions

Clinton emphasized that both he and his friend acknowledged they had made a mistake by parking illegally, which is why they paid the fine immediately. However, he remained puzzled by the lack of action taken against the other vehicles. “We waited to see if the officers went to clamp other cars, but they didn’t,” he said, still confused by the situation.
