“RM1.3k For ‘Services’” – Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia  Raids Elite KL Entertainment Centres, 107 Foreign Nationals Detained

Late-Night Sweep In Kepong

Malaysia’s Immigration Department carried out a major late-night operation on 27 February in two small industrial areas in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur.

The operation, which began around 11pm, involved officers from the Intelligence and Special Operations Division together with the Special Tactical Team PASTAK.

According to an official statement released on 1 March, the raid followed two weeks of intelligence gathering and tip-offs.

107 Foreign Nationals Detained

A total of 224 individuals were inspected across both premises. Of that number, 171 were foreign nationals and 53 were locals.

Following checks, 107 foreign nationals were detained for not possessing valid travel documents or passes.

Those detained included 65 Thai women, three Thai men, 18 Vietnamese women, 11 Bangladeshi men, seven Laotian women and three Indonesian women.

All detainees have been placed at the Lenggeng Immigration Depot for further investigation.

Alleged “Mummy” Coordinator & Colour-Coded Fees

Authorities also seized various items believed to be linked to illicit activities, including payment chips, necklaces, computers and CCTV systems.

Initial intelligence suggested that the premises were tightly monitored by security personnel. The foreign women were reportedly managed by a coordinator known only as “Mummy,” who was said to handle customer arrangements and stage performances.

Investigations revealed that alleged service fees were structured using a colour-coded system, with rates ranging from RM100 up to RM1,314.

Possible Legal Action Under Multiple Acts

The case is being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/63, the Passport Act 1966 and the Immigration Regulations 1963.

Authorities also warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found to be involved in human trafficking or migrant smuggling under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.

Seven Malaysian citizens were issued notices to assist with investigations.

Immigration Department Issues Warning

The Immigration Department emphasised that enforcement efforts will continue against individuals or operators who breach immigration laws.

Members of the public have been urged to report suspicious activities to ensure compliance with Malaysia’s immigration regulations.
