Kepong Bak Kut Teh Attack Victim Speaks Out For The First Time
Victim Says He Was Suddenly Attacked While Eating

The victim involved in the viral bak kut teh restaurant assault in Kepong has finally spoken publicly for the first time following the shocking incident. Choosing to remain anonymous for safety reasons involving himself and his family, the victim said he had simply gone out alone early in the morning to enjoy his favourite bak kut teh meal before everything suddenly turned violent. According to him, he noticed a group of men drinking nearby after hearing noise from his right side but did not interact with them. He claimed that after briefly looking over, someone shouted at him in Cantonese asking what he was looking at before ice cubes were allegedly thrown at him. Moments later, he said he was suddenly viciously attacked and punched without any reason.
Victim Says He Never Provoked The Suspects
The victim strongly denied provoking, insulting or challenging the suspects in any way before the assault happened. He explained that he was left dazed after being punched and only attempted to defend himself after being repeatedly attacked. According to him, the situation could have become much worse if weapons had been nearby. “If i had challenged or fought / fight back, i believe they would have killed me then. I was also lucky that there were no knifes lying around or i would have been mercilessly stabbed to death by them,” he said. The victim revealed he suffered serious injuries involving his head, forehead, eyes, neck, shoulders, back and body, including stitches on his forehead. He also said he now experiences headaches, body pain and occasional blurry vision which he never had before the attack.
Victim Says He Is Now Living In Fear
Apart from the physical injuries, the victim admitted the incident has left him traumatised and fearful for both his own safety and his family’s wellbeing. He said he now suffers from painful sleepless nights and no longer dares to eat outside alone. The victim also revealed he is currently receiving treatment from several specialists including neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons and ophthalmology experts, while also seeing a psychiatrist for trauma. He added that the expensive medical bills have become another burden because he does not have medical insurance coverage. Following reports that all three suspects have already been arrested, the victim expressed hope that justice would be served and that similar incidents would not happen again to innocent people in Malaysia simply trying to enjoy a meal outside.
