Apple is the only tech giant that hasn’t showcased its AI features yet.
Apple is set to announce a bunch of artificial intelligence (AI) features for its iOS devices at the upcoming 2024 Worldwide Developers’ Conference (WWDC).
The WWDC is an annual event held by Apple in the US. This year’s conference will take place from 10 to 14 June (11 to 15 June for us Malaysians).
Over the years, this event has become a must-watch for tech enthusiasts as Apple reveals and introduces its latest software, technologies, and products.
This year, many expect Apple to unveil its own AI features, following in the footsteps of competitors like Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and OpenAI.
The new AI features are expected to be available for the iPhone 15 and newer models.
Apple’s AI: Apple Intelligence
Apple’s suite of AI features is expected to be named “Apple Intelligence” – a clever play on the AI acronym.
According to Bloomberg, these AI features will be accessible on the latest iPhones, iPads, and Macs. So, if you have an iOS device without the M1 chip, like the iPhone 14, you won’t be able to use these new AI features.
Privacy First: Opt-In AI Features
With a strong focus on user privacy, Apple will make these AI features available as an opt-in, meaning you can choose whether or not to use them. Initially, they will be labeled as a beta test.
Bloomberg’s Apple insider, Mark Gurman, mentioned that these features will utilize both cloud processing and on-device processing. Expect AI capabilities that boost your productivity, such as voice transcription, AI-powered website summaries for Safari, and AI-assisted photo editing functions.
How to Watch WWDC 2024
