Arab Man Confused About Who Siti Nurhaliza Is, Netizens Respond with Nonsense Answers
Dato’ Seri Siti Nurhaliza is certainly no stranger to the local entertainment industry. In fact, her popularity has spread throughout Southeast Asia. However, a recently viral video shows that there are still foreigners who are unfamiliar with this iconic national singer.
In a video shared by TikTok user @shabouk9, an Arab man appears confused upon seeing Siti Nurhaliza being swarmed by fans at a shopping mall.
In the recording, Siti Nurhaliza is seen walking while escorted by security personnel, and the crowd is seen taking the opportunity to snap photos and videos of her. The Arab man also recorded the situation while asking in Arabic, “Who is she? I don’t know… but people are taking pictures, so I want to take one too.”
The video went viral, with many netizens leaving various comments. Some explained to the man that the woman was Siti Nurhaliza, Malaysia’s number one singer. Some even compared her to the famous Arab singer Nancy Ajram — the Southeast Asian version.
However, many others left humorous comments — claiming she was a national Muay Thai athlete or a Malaysian Mobile Legends e-sports player. Some jokingly said she was from Indonesia.
The incident amused many but at the same time highlighted how iconic Siti is to Malaysians — to the point that even foreigners have to ask, who is the woman being surrounded by so many people?
