Chinese influencer Jiang Xiaorou Ya gained more than one million followers through her unusual online content. The 24-year-old regularly challenged traditional superstitions and explored places said to be haunted. Some of her videos took those challenges much further. She reportedly smashed a Guanyin statue and nailed a paper containing her birth details to a tree. She also spent nights alone in abandoned properties and performed rituals linked to traditional ghost folklore. One particular video has now returned to the spotlight. In the clip, Jiang reportedly challenged the idea of “karma” while burning incense. She then said she would “get into a car accident tomorrow.” At the time, it was simply another provocative video from a creator known for testing traditional beliefs.
Then A Serious Car Crash Changed Everything
On 15 July, Jiang travelled by car from Liuzhou, Guangxi, towards Guangzhou. During the journey, the vehicle got into a serious accident in Zhaoqing. Jiang suffered severe traumatic brain injuries, haemorrhagic shock and multiple organ failure. Doctors treated her in intensive care for 28 days, but she died on 10 August. Another detail soon caught people’s attention online. Jiang uploaded her final video on 9 July, just days before the crash. In that video, she reportedly called a phone number linked to someone who had died in a road accident. The call apparently connected, although Jiang only heard her own voice echoing back. Unsurprisingly, her previous content quickly resurfaced after news of her death spread online.
But There Is No Evidence Of Anything Supernatural
The strange coincidences have sparked plenty of discussion, but they do not prove that superstition or supernatural forces played any role in Jiang’s death. She died after suffering serious injuries in a road accident. There is currently no verified evidence connecting the crash to the paranormal themes in her videos. As speculation continued to spread, Jiang’s family confirmed her death on 11 August. They also asked the public to stop excessive speculation and respect her after her passing. Her story may sound eerie because of the content she created before the accident. However, coincidence should not be treated as proof of something supernatural.
