Tensions flared on Fly FM’s breakfast show when DJ Haniff Hamzah stormed out mid-show following a heated discussion about body image and public criticism of his looks.

The drama unfolded on the morning of January 17, when a debate about body image led to an emotional response from Haniff. For weeks, listeners had been commenting on the appearance of Haniff and his co-host Ean, questioning whether the duo was “past their prime.”

While Ean took the criticism in stride, using it as motivation to live a healthier lifestyle, Haniff struggled to deal with the ongoing remarks. The brewing tension eventually resulted in an exchange between the two, bringing the topic of body image and self-improvement to the forefront.

During the segment, the pair underwent a professional body scan by a certified personal trainer, revealing that both of them fell into the “obese” category. Ean used the results to fuel positive changes, but Haniff found it difficult to accept the findings.

“I’ve heard what people are saying, and I want to make a change — not just for myself, but to prove that growth is always possible. I know this journey isn’t easy, but it’s worth it,” Ean shared on air.

However, things escalated further when Haniff became upset, particularly after Ean reportedly discussed the situation with Haniff’s manager.

“I don’t understand why you have to talk to my manager about my looks — she’s my manager!” Haniff shouted, addressing Ean before storming out of the studio, despite Ean’s attempt to apologise.

After the incident, Haniff shared cryptic posts on his Instagram story, featuring a plain grey background with text that read, “How much is too much?” and “I think it’s too much.”

The incident has divided opinions among fans, with some supporting Haniff for standing his ground, while others praised Ean for using the moment to grow and take control of his health.
