Greta Thunberg Dragged And Forced To Kiss Israeli Flag, Activists Say

Global outrage after activists reveal inhumane treatment by Israeli forces during flotilla mission

A humanitarian flotilla aiming to deliver aid to Gaza and challenge Israel’s blockade was intercepted at sea, leading to the detention of over 450 individuals. Today, a plane carrying 137 released activists landed in Istanbul, where they shared shocking accounts of abuse.

Among the most disturbing claims: Greta Thunberg, the 22-year-old Swedish climate activist, was allegedly dragged by her hair, beaten, and forced to kiss the Israeli flag.

“They dragged little Greta Thunberg by her hair in front of us, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag,” said Turkish activist Ersin Çelik.

“We Were Treated Like Dogs” – Activists Speak Out

Malaysian volunteer Hazwani Helmi echoed the trauma, saying detainees were treated “like animals” and denied food, clean water, and medicine.

Windfield Beaver from the US added that Thunberg was “used as propaganda” and shoved into a room when far-right Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived.

Turkish TV presenter Ikbal Gurpinar said they were left to starve for three days and had to drink from toilets in extreme heat.

Prison Walls Stained With Blood

Activist Aycin Kantoglu described prison walls covered in blood and names written by detained mothers.

“We saw mothers writing their children’s names on the walls,” she said.

Italian journalist Lorenzo Agostino said Greta was wrapped in an Israeli flag and paraded like a trophy.

Global Condemnation Mounts

Italy’s Foreign Minister confirmed 26 Italians were sent home while 15 remain in custody. MP Arturo Scotto stated that those aboard the flotilla acted lawfully, and Israel’s blockade was illegal.

The NGO Adalah said detainees’ rights were systematically violated — including denial of legal counsel, sanitation, and medical access.

French doctor Baptiste André said Israeli soldiers mocked them and deprived Thunberg of sleep.

A Swedish government email stated Greta refused to sign documents she did not understand, and now has access to legal counsel.

This flotilla raid has sparked worldwide condemnation. Activists say it exposes the illegitimacy of Israel’s blockade and the urgent need to deliver aid to the besieged 2.3 million people in Gaza.
