Toppen Food Run Draws Massive Attention
The Toppen Run and Food 2025 event in Johor Bahru has gone viral after participants were seen running while enjoying a variety of foods along the 3KM and 5KM routes. The event was organised by Toppen Shopping Centre in celebration of its 6th anniversary.
Participants Crowd the Food Pit Stops
A participant named Sha shared a video showing runners crowding the food stalls placed along the race route. Snacks like egg sandwiches, Malaysian burgers, curry puffs and syrup drinks were served. Families with children also joined in, enjoying the fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Sha joked, “Only 1KM and they’re already serving all this. No wonder we’re all running slowly. Wait until we reach the finish line.”
Over 10 Buffet Stations at the Finish Line
Toppen Shopping Centre revealed that more than 10 food buffet stations were set up at the finishing area. Food trucks were also present, making it even harder for participants to focus on the run.
RM25 for an Experience Worth Every Cent
Another participant shared the food she collected during the run. From popcorn to nasi lemak, nasi goreng and fruit cups, the haul was impressive. She added that the RM25 registration fee was definitely worth the experience.
“Still completed 5KM but we didn’t chase pace today. We chased food,” she wrote.
Netizens Love the ‘Run While Eating’ Concept
Many netizens expressed their amusement and interest in the concept.
