Teenager Spots Damaged Ceiling Before Discovery Phyton 60kg
A quiet day in a Kedah household took a terrifying turn when a 15-year-old girl noticed the toilet ceiling was damaged. Her mother, who is a teacher, said she received a picture from her daughter while she was in a meeting, and at first glance, she thought the object hanging through the ceiling resembled a piece of Batik cloth.
Mother Realises It Was Actually a Huge Python
After zooming in on the photo, the mother realised the “cloth” was actually a massive python hiding above the ceiling. Officers from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) were deployed to the home in Sungai Petani, and even they did not expect the reptile to be so large. Weighing around 60kg, the python eventually fell from the ceiling during the rescue operation, shocking the entire family.
Family Believed Snake Entered from Nearby Durian Farm
The mother said she previously noticed an overturned flower pot two days before the incident and now suspects the python crawled in from a durian tree farm behind the house. She also admitted that when the snake fell during the operation, she momentarily thought it was an anaconda due to its enormous size.
Family Still Traumatized to Use the Toilet
Although the python was safely removed, the family remains traumatised, especially when entering the toilet. The mother cleaned the house thoroughly afterward, including the carpets, to get rid of the reptile’s lingering smell. She expressed relief that her daughter noticed the ceiling damage early, fearing what could have happened if the python had made its way further into the house.
