KLCC Chaos: M’sian Vendor Injured Trying To Stop Attack On Tourists

Vendor Injured While Trying To Help

A shocking incident unfolded at KLCC when a Malaysian vendor ended up injured after trying to stop a group of illegal photographers from attacking foreign tourists. The incident reportedly happened on Monday, 23 March, and quickly gained attention online after details were shared publicly.

Attack Linked To Illegal Photographers

The victim’s friend, influencer and teacher Mohd Fadli Salleh, revealed that the attack was carried out by a group of illegal photographers operating around KLCC. According to him, the group was large, with dozens of individuals involved, and they were already in the middle of a confrontation with foreign tourists before things escalated further.

Tried To Break Up Fight, Became Target

According to the statement shared, the vendor, who was selling drinks nearby, stepped in to break up the fight when he saw the tourists being assaulted. However, the situation took a turn when the group allegedly turned on him and attacked him together.

“My friend’s head was split open after he was beaten with a weapon, I am unsure of the specific object, near KLCC yesterday. This was the work of a gang of illegal photographers,” Mohd Fadli Salleh shared. He added that the group did not stop there and continued to beat the vendor after he tried to intervene.

Victims Required Stitches

It was reported that two individuals, including the vendor, suffered head injuries from the attack. One required seven stitches while the other needed two stitches. Mohd Fadli also claimed that the attackers struck the vendor from behind and even damaged his drink containers during the incident.

Concerns Over Ongoing Activity

A police report has since been lodged following the incident. However, Mohd Fadli Salleh raised concerns that despite multiple complaints in the past, the group of illegal photographers is still actively operating around KLCC.

“This gang seems ‘immune’; they continue to operate while threatening and physically assaulting people. They are the reason tourists look down on Malaysia. I hope the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will be stricter in cracking down on this syndicate. They are damaging the country’s image,” he said.

Public Urged Authorities To Act

The incident has sparked frustration among many who believe stricter action should be taken to prevent such situations from happening again. Many are now calling on authorities to step in and address the issue before it continues to affect both locals and tourists.
