Picture this: stories flooding in from Taylor Swift’s Singapore concert. People crying tears of joy, enduring hours of excitement, and now, a guy spills the beans on how he turned a hefty profit from the show.
Taylor Swift’s concerts not only light up the stage but also bring a financial boon to businesses in Malaysia. Enter Amirul Sufi, a savvy bus operator whose company cashed in a whopping RM30,000 in revenue in just one day!
In a chat with BFM89.9 radio, Amirul spilled the beans about his business journey. He started his company with a modest RM10,000 capital, specializing in ferrying Malaysian fans to and from concerts in locations like Penang and Johor.
With the buzz around The Eras Tour, Amirul seized the opportunity, making approximately three trips a day. He let us in on the scoop that a single day’s earnings could easily hit RM25,000. Multiply that by the number of days Taylor Swift graced Singapore, and Amirul found himself swimming in profits just by shuttling excited concertgoers to the Eras Tour.
“The concerts bring benefits to various sectors, including tourism and bus operators like me. Even though the concert happened in Singapore and pumped up their economy, my buddies and I also had a slice of the pie,” Amirul shared.
While the daily income danced around RM30,000, the real profit after expenses was a cool RM4,000 to RM5,000. Let’s break it down for The Eras Tour.
“The cost for one bus service is about RM4,000, and for three buses, it totals RM12,000, covering fuel, driver salaries, maintenance, and more.”
For Amirul, it’s not just about the pickups and drop-offs. He plays troubleshooter, ensuring customers are satisfied and tackling any issues that pop up, be it immigration headaches or finding the best spots to change and grab a bite.
Here’s to Amirul’s thriving business! The Eras Tour fever is still burning bright—share your concert experiences with us!
