A Malaysian businessman, known as Prince Syed, has taken legal action after receiving negative feedback regarding his Laksa. The comments were posted on his social media about his Laksa business in Langkawi, which has since been deleted.
Prince Syed and his wife shared that they have filed a police report at the Langkawi Police Station to address what they called defamatory comments and to clear their names.
“We’re filing this report to counter the accusations against us and our business. We’re also upset about the offensive language directed towards us,” Syed explained in a Facebook video.
In the video, Syed clarified that the intention of the report is to clear their names and ensure no misunderstandings remain.
“We apologize to the people of Langkawi for our presence here. To those who posted videos and mentioned our names without knowing the full story, we’re happy to meet and explain what happened,” he added.
Previously, many netizens had left negative comments on the post, criticizing Syed’s Laksa, claiming it was not up to the standard of the local offerings.
Syed said he didn’t want to escalate the situation, as it might harm his relationship with both his customers and suppliers. He also mentioned that he would be leaving Langkawi immediately but expressed gratitude to the local community for the opportunity to operate his Laksa business.
Langkawi’s Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have confirmed they’ve received an official report from Syed about the incident.
