Malaysian Man Reunited with Long-Lost ‘Bantal Busuk’ in Glass Box as Birthday Gift

A Malaysian man named Muniswaran Hari Rama recently received an unexpected yet sentimental birthday gift — his long-lost childhood ‘bantal busuk’ encased in a glass box.
Muniswaran, who turned 34, shared the heartwarming surprise in a TikTok video that has since gone viral. The video shows his beloved pillow carefully preserved in a display box alongside nostalgic photos of him as a baby and young boy.
He explained that he had assumed the pillow was lost about four years ago when he was moving out. Muniswaran believed he had either dropped it or left it behind somewhere. Little did he know, his best friend had secretly kept it all these years — only to surprise him with the sentimental “artefact” on his birthday in January.
Muniswaran revealed that the pillow, which he’d cherished since 1996, had been his sleeping companion for years. However, after its disappearance in 2020, he had no choice but to learn to sleep without it.
In the video, Muniswaran jokingly — and somewhat begrudgingly — thanked his friend for the surprise. Interestingly, he also mentioned that he no longer uses a ‘bantal busuk’ to sleep these days.
The heartwarming video has since garnered over 1.6 million views, with many Malaysians amused by the unexpected return of his well-loved pillow.
