Melaka Man Confronts ‘Rempits’, Group Allegedly Retaliates Outside His Home

Youths Gather Outside Residential Home

A resident in Ayer Molek, Melaka, has voiced serious safety concerns after a large group of youths reportedly gathered outside his home, engaging in behaviour linked to illegal street racing.

The incident was captured on video and later shared on social media by Muhammad Noor Izami Ishak, who is also known online as Izami Gadget.

In the footage, numerous motorcyclists can be seen loitering along the road directly in front of his residence.

Allegedly Removing Plates To Avoid Detection

The video shows several individuals removing their motorcycle registration plates, a tactic often associated with illegal racers attempting to avoid identification by authorities or CCTV cameras.

According to reports, many of the motorcycles were fitted with modified exhaust systems that produced extremely loud engine sounds, causing significant noise disturbance in the residential area.

Some youths were also seen wearing face coverings resembling balaclavas, which reportedly heightened the sense of intimidation among nearby residents.

Revving Engines After Being Recorded

The homeowner claimed that when he began recording the situation, the group did not disperse immediately.

Instead, those without number plates and with concealed identities allegedly revved their engines even louder, which he described as an act of open defiance.

The response reportedly left residents feeling uneasy and vulnerable in their own neighbourhood.

Police Report Lodged

Following the incident, a formal police report was lodged to alert authorities about the gatherings and their frequency.

The complainant also tagged Duyong Assemblyman Mohd Noor Helmy in his post, seeking assistance in addressing the ongoing issue.

In addition to calling for enforcement action, Izami appealed directly to parents who might recognise their children or motorcycles in the footage, urging them to monitor their children’s movements and steer them away from dangerous and illegal activities.

Pattern Of Motorcycle Disturbances

This is not the first time Melaka has seen complaints involving motorcycle groups in residential or coastal areas.

Similar disturbances have previously been reported in places such as Klebang, prompting the Royal Malaysia Police to conduct operations like Op Samseng Jalanan aimed at curbing illegal racing activities.

Authorities have yet to release further updates on the latest report at the time of writing.
