Migrant Worker Becomes Hero, Rescues Child Trapped in Locked Car

In times of crisis, nationality doesn’t matter—compassion does. That was exactly what a Bangladeshi migrant worker proved when he stepped in to rescue a child trapped inside a locked car in Sentul.
The heartwarming incident, captured in a viral TikTok video, unfolded when a Malaysian grandmother took her young grandson shopping. At some point, the child accidentally locked the car doors while playing inside.
Although the air conditioning was still on, keeping the child safe from the heat, he was too young to unlock the door himself. Concerned passersby quickly gathered around, attempting various methods to open the door. One man even tried using industrial tape to lower the window, but it didn’t work.
Just as panic started setting in, a Bangladeshi worker approached with a steel rod and a set of spanners. With impressive skill, he crafted a makeshift hook at the rod’s tip and carefully inserted it into the car door, using a cloth to prevent any damage. After a few tense moments of maneuvering, he successfully unlocked the door.
A wave of relief spread through the crowd as the grandmother embraced her grandson. The worker, unfazed by the attention, simply smiled and walked away after receiving grateful pats on the back.
The TikTok user who uploaded the video, @chandravathanan_39, captioned it perfectly:
“In moments of trouble, it doesn’t matter where we come from. We help each other, no matter our nationality.”
