Malaysia’s Phoenix Trains With John Cena at Lodestone 2025
A Moment No One Expected: Malaysia’s Phoenix Meets the Wrestling Legend
Meeting John Cena is something most wrestling fans dream of, but for Malaysia’s own Nor “Phoenix” Diana, that dream turned into reality.

What shocked fans even more is that she did not just meet him. She trained under him.
In her Instagram post, Phoenix wrote, “Meeting John Cena was not on my 2025 bingo card. Still surreal that I got to learn from one of the greatest ever. Just being invited was already a blessing. Learning from the GOAT is truly priceless.”

The World’s First Hijab-Wearing Pro Wrestler
Nor Diana has made history before this moment. She is globally recognised as the first hijab-wearing professional wrestler.
Starting young under Malaysia Pro Wrestling (MyPW), she quickly built a reputation through speed, resilience and unwavering commitment to her craft.
Standing under 155 centimetres, she stunned audiences in 2019 by becoming MyPW’s Wrestlecon Champion, defeating male competitors and proving that size is never a limit.
Her success pushed her onto the international stage. She landed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list and made her United States debut with Reality of Wrestling in Texas.
Cena’s Surprise Appearance at Lodestone 2025
The meeting took place at Lodestone 2025, a multi-day women’s wrestling seminar in Florida designed for experienced independent female wrestlers.
The camp is known for its world class mentors and this year’s lineup featured Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Rhea Ripley, Natalya, Roxanne Perez, Maxxine Dupri, Lyra Valkyria and veteran coaches TJ Wilson and Tyler Breeze.
John Cena’s appearance was completely unexpected. He was not on the schedule, yet he stayed for nearly eight hours, watching matches, offering guidance and speaking directly with the athletes.
This happened just days before his highly anticipated retirement match on 13 December against Gunther.
For Phoenix and everyone there, it was a once in a lifetime moment.
