PMX Gives Heads Up to Civil Servants: Only the Hard Workers Get 13% Raise

On Labor Day 2024, civil servants got a double treat: a break and some great news from PM Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Starting this December, Malaysian civil servants will see a 13% increase in their pay, and PMX assured that the minimum wage will climb above RM2,000. That means no more starting at RM1,800.

But hold on, not all civil servants are getting this raise. PMX made it clear that only those who really pull their weight at work deserve the bump in pay.

“I want to remind everyone that if you’re not putting in the effort, showing up late, or just being lazy, you won’t see that extra cash.”

While the spotlight was on government employees, PMX didn’t forget about the private sector. He believes hardworking folks there deserve a raise too.

“To all the bosses out there making good money, think about giving your workers a bit more. Fair’s fair in the workplace.”

PMX also stressed that Malaysians should step up their game and serve their country better.

Before this, PMX had promised to find a way to give civil servants a raise, and now he’s delivered.

Congrats to all the dedicated civil servants! And bosses, what’s your take on boosting your employees’ pay?
