The Selangor State Government has purchased a cutting-edge ‘Jetpatcher’ machine worth RM1 million from the UK to accelerate road repair works. Officially launched on 10 September at Dataran Pahlawan in Shah Alam, this machine is expected to improve road maintenance efforts, especially during the Mega Paving Program 2024.
According to Selangor’s Executive Councillor for Infrastructure and Agriculture, Ir. Izham Hashim, the Jetpatcher will deliver higher-quality repairs and can fix potholes in just 15 minutes, compared to over an hour using conventional methods. It is also environmentally friendly, requires fewer workers, and can operate in all weather conditions.
This new technology is expected to enhance road infrastructure in Selangor significantly, allowing up to 80 potholes to be fixed in a single day.
