Thailand’s Infamous ‘Ninja Thief’ Caught Hiding Inside Bed Frame

Thailand’s most elusive thief, nicknamed the “ninja thief,” has finally been captured after allegedly committing more than 20 thefts. The 22-year-old suspect, identified as Korraphak, had repeatedly escaped arrest despite police reports being filed at 13 separate stations.

His strategy was simple but effective: he targeted individuals selling secondhand items on social media. Korraphak would arrange a meetup, pretend to inspect or collect the item, then snatch it and flee on a motorcycle—often using stolen or unregistered bikes to cover his tracks.

Victims included a man named John, who was selling a camera worth 59,000 baht (RM7,596). Korraphak posed as a delivery rider, collected the camera, and vanished. Another victim, Bee, lost her iPhone 15 when the thief ran off mid-demo, pushing her to the ground and knocking her unconscious.

Many victims later spotted their stolen items being resold online but were unable to recover them.

Influencer Steps In

Frustrated by repeated inaction, victims reached out to Thai social media influencer Guntouch ‘Gun’ Pongpaiboonwet. Teaming up with authorities, Gun helped trace Korraphak to an apartment.

During the police raid on April 30, officers initially couldn’t locate him—until they lifted a wooden panel under the bed and found Korraphak curled up and hiding.

Gun later posted the dramatic moment on social media, confirming the long-awaited arrest.
