Manchester United continues to be the subject of ridicule among football fans on social media as their official stadium, Old Trafford, was reported to have sprung a leak due to heavy rain.
The incident occurred after the conclusion of the match against Arsenal, which ended in a 1-0 defeat, leaving their fate seemingly in ruins.
Furthermore, a video circulating on social media showed the ceiling of Arsenal’s dressing room also leaking and being flooded with water, adding to the discussion among fans.
Most Red Devils supporters expressed dissatisfaction with the leaking roof of Old Trafford, which has yet to be repaired since last season.
“Old Trafford has turned into a waterfall,” said @SkySportsEPL.
“I never expected Old Trafford to suddenly turn into a waterfall. The management needs to play their part in finding the cause of the leak,” said @beINSPORTS_EN.
“If I hadn’t recorded this incident myself, I probably wouldn’t believe that Old Trafford turned into a waterfall,” said @LarryMadowo.
The defeat to Arsenal further complicates United’s chances of competing in Europe next season.
Erik ten Hag’s men showed more spirit than when they were thrashed 4-0 by Crystal Palace last week, but they have only won once in their last eight EPL matches.
United remains in eighth place in the league, three points behind both Newcastle, whom they will face early Thursday morning, and Chelsea.
