Viral Hostel Room Looks Like Trash Dump, Netizens Horrified
Shocking Hostel Room Post Goes Viral on Threads
A social media post recently took the internet by storm after a man named Afizul uploaded disturbing images of a hostel room that looked more like a trash dump than a place to sleep. The room, which was intended to house workers, was littered with trash, leftover food, and personal items.

According to Afizul, the occupant — who was sleeping in the middle of the mess — didn’t show up for work that day and claimed he had overslept.
Bottles, Cigarettes, Clothes and Chaos on the Floor
The photos shared by Afizul displayed an appalling level of disarray. There were piles of empty drink bottles, cigarette butts, dirty clothes, unwashed bedsheets, slippers, and other personal items dumped all over the floor. The entire space seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks.
“He didn’t come to work today, said he woke up late. When asked what time he went to bed, he said 5AM. Someone was supposed to give him a ride, but how if he won’t even get up?” Afizul wrote.
Shocked by the condition, he added,
“Who would willingly live like this? I’d kick him out if he lived nearby — farther away would be even better.”
Online Community Responds With Outrage
The response in the comment section was swift and critical. Netizens expressed their disbelief over the condition of the room and criticised the occupant’s hygiene.
“With a room like that, who even knows if the clothes are clean. So filthy,” one user commented.
Others mocked the lack of cleanliness:
“Have you never seen a trash bag before? Or do you just not know what a trash can is?”
“Did he take something illegal? Because that room looks like a crime scene.”
Many were especially alarmed by the number of sugary drinks visible:
“That’s a diabetes bomb. He might lose a leg at this rate,” another user wrote.
Another Similar Case: Rental House in Horrific State
This wasn’t the first time Malaysians were shocked by extreme filth. In a previous case, a rental house went viral for being covered in garbage, spoiled food, and random items.
Video footage revealed the home’s entrance, kitchen, and every room in complete disarray — a mix of trash, oil bottles, bicycles, knives, mops, and cooking utensils. No part of the home looked habitable.
Cleanliness is Basic, Even in Rented Spaces
These viral cases serve as a reminder that cleanliness is a personal responsibility, even in rented spaces. Living in filth not only reflects poorly on one’s character, but also poses serious health hazards to others nearby. Everyone deserves to live in a safe, clean environment — and that begins with basic hygiene.
