Zira, the owner of the MyKeria keria shop, has publicly admitted that she fired her worker Nabilah after the young woman received a cash gift from influencer Cikgu Shaari in a viral TikTok video.

The controversy began when Cikgu Shaari visited the MyKeria stall and spoke to Nabilah, who revealed she was a student and the eldest child in her family. She explained that she was working to help ease her parents’ financial burden.

Touched by her story, Cikgu Shaari gave Nabilah a ring and RM300 in cash. The moment was shared online and received widespread praise — but things took a turn when Nabilah was later removed from her job.

“I Apologised to Her… I Was Wrong”

In a statement posted online, Zira confirmed she had asked Nabilah to leave the WhatsApp group and look for a new job. She explained that she was upset after Nabilah refused to share the RM300 with other workers.

“I’ve made a private apology to Nabilah on WhatsApp. I apologise once again to Nabilah for being a terrible and cruel boss,” she said.

Zira said she had assumed that the money from Cikgu Shaari should have been shared equally among staff, especially since the other workers were the ones who encouraged Nabilah to appear in the video. She believed at the time that the content was expected to come with a reward.

@Cikgu Shaari mykeria

“I was angry because she left the group after I asked her to share the money. That was my thought on the day it happened,” she said.

Zira Says She Was Emotionally Unstable, Netizens Stand by Nabilah

Zira admitted that she made the decision while emotionally overwhelmed, adding that her mother had been hospitalised at the time.

Despite her apology, netizens continue to show strong support for Nabilah. Many praised her maturity and strength, especially considering she’s a student who works to support her family as the eldest sibling.

Meanwhile, Cikgu Shaari continues to receive praise for his charitable content and kindness towards everyday Malaysians. In this case, he gave the RM300 and ring after learning about Nabilah’s personal situation.

For many online, the incident serves as a powerful reminder that employers should show compassion — especially when dealing with workers who are under pressure or struggling behind the scenes.
