According to the caption in the video that read “What happened to him?”, the collector accidentally snipped a small corner of the card while trying to open the packaging using scissors.

The card was identified as a Grandmaster Rare Dark Magician from the Pharaoh’s Servant set. Even a tiny cut like that can drastically reduce the value of collectible cards, especially when they are rare editions.

For collectors who treat their cards like long-term investments, damaging the condition of a card can mean losing thousands in value instantly.

After the clip spread online, many users shared their sympathy for the collector while also reminding others to be extremely careful when opening card packs.
