The clip showed the rat darting between passengers as several people quickly lifted their feet. Naturally, the video got people asking how a rat managed to enter the train. Some users pointed to the ban on eating and drinking inside coaches. They argued that leftover food and crumbs could attract pests. However, no one has confirmed that food waste caused this particular incident. Rapid KL later acknowledged the video and promised to keep its coaches clean. The operator also reminded passengers to help maintain cleanliness and prevent similar incidents.
Then An LRT Suddenly Stopped After A Loud Bang And Sparks
Things got even more stressful at around 10am on the Kelana Jaya Line. Threads user @kinkinkeen said she heard a loud bang and saw sparks outside her train. Shortly afterwards, the emergency brakes kicked in between Universiti and Taman Jaya stations. The train then remained on the track for about 15 minutes. Another user, @memeumaida, shared footage of passengers moving to another train. She claimed some passengers lost their balance when the train suddenly stopped. According to her, a pregnant passenger was among those who fell. Rapid KL later said a power supply disruption at Universiti Station caused the incident. Its operations team helped passengers move safely to a standby train before they continued their journeys. Rapid KL reported no injuries and sent the affected train to its depot for further checks.
And At Gombak, A Woman Fell Onto The Tracks
Unfortunately, the rail drama didn’t end there. Another emergency happened at Gombak LRT station, where a woman fell onto the railway tracks. Rapid KL said the passenger had likely fainted before the fall. Rescuers managed to bring her to safety, and the incident caused no fatalities. Overall, Klang Valley commuters had quite an eventful day. One group had a rat running around their MRT coach, while another faced an unexpected LRT disruption. Commuters at Gombak then witnessed a completely different emergency involving a passenger on the tracks. Thankfully, Rapid KL reported no injuries from the Kelana Jaya Line disruption and no deaths from the Gombak incident.
