Malaysian Woman Misses Work Trip After Son Draws Dinosaur On Passport

Work Trip Turns Into A Nightmare After Passport Discovery

A Malaysian woman found herself in a stressful situation after discovering that her three-year-old son had drawn all over her passport just hours before she was scheduled to leave for an overseas work trip. Sharing the incident on Threads, she explained that she was packing her luggage on the morning of 6 June when her son managed to get hold of the passport without her knowledge. By the time she noticed, several pages had already been covered with blue ink markings, including what appeared to be a hand-drawn dinosaur. With her flight set for later that evening, she admitted that she felt like crying over the unexpected situation.

Immigration Confirms Passport Is No Longer Valid

Hoping the damage would not affect her travel plans, the woman visited the Immigration Department’s branch in Kajang before being referred to Putrajaya for further assessment. Unfortunately, immigration officers confirmed that the passport was considered damaged and could no longer be used for international travel. The situation became even more complicated because it was a Saturday, preventing her from immediately applying for a replacement passport as the investigating officer required for the process was unavailable. As a result, she was unable to board her scheduled flight and had to postpone her journey.

Flight Rescheduled But At An Additional Cost

The woman later travelled to Kuala Lumpur International Airport in an attempt to salvage her travel plans. She eventually managed to reschedule her Qatar Airways flight to Monday evening, but the change came with an additional cost of RM620. Despite the inconvenience, she chose to remain positive and joked that perhaps her son simply wanted a few extra days with her before she left. When social media users asked about her son’s reaction, she revealed that he remained completely unfazed and continued smiling while repeatedly saying, “Let’s go to the airport!” She also expressed appreciation to an immigration officer in Putrajaya who helped her stay calm throughout the process. Reflecting on the experience, she said she believed there was probably a reason everything happened the way it did and described it as a possible blessing in disguise.
