In a distressing turn of events, a foreign couple is desperately seeking assistance to regain custody of their 3-year-old child after being deceived by their Malaysian employers, who also acted as babysitters, into signing away their parental rights.
Here’s their story:
A trainee counselor, Mega Murthi, took to TikTok to shed light on the foreign couple’s predicament. The local couple, who employed the foreign couple as a maid and gardener, duped them into signing adoption papers instead of the alleged babysitting license documents.
According to Mega, the local couple, entrusted with babysitting the child while the foreign couple worked, falsely claimed that the signatures were necessary for a babysitting license. The foreign couple, being from India, believed the local couple’s explanation and unwittingly signed away their rights at the National Registration Department (JPN).
The situation escalated when the local couple not only evicted the foreign couple from their premises but also denied them access to their child. Desperate and displaced, the foreign couple sought refuge at a Hindu temple, contemplating drastic measures.
Fortunately, Mega intervened upon learning of the distressing incident. She prevented the couple from taking drastic actions and has been actively assisting them in bringing the case to the attention of authorities and the public.
The local couple allegedly further exacerbated the situation by conditioning the child to reject her birth parents. After filing a report at the Ampang Jaya police station, the local couple brought the child to the station, preventing her from reuniting with her parents.
In an emotionally charged encounter, the child, influenced by the local couple, expressed reluctance to be with her mother and father. This heartbreaking scene unfolded as the local couple whispered negative remarks in the child’s ear.
The local couple, aware of the foreign couple’s financial constraints, asserted that they were providing excellent care for the child and insisted on keeping her.
Despite making reports at both the Ampang Jaya and Sentul police stations, Mega, alongside the foreign couple, is now seeking legal assistance from the Indian embassy to reclaim custody of their child. The couple remains embroiled in a legal battle as they strive to reunite with their beloved daughter.
