M’sian Entrepreneur Surprises Underprivileged Family With Ramadan & Raya Gifts
Malaysian entrepreneur, Yew Boon Xiang, better known as Boss Mario, recently warmed hearts by bonding with a single mother and her children, making their Ramadan and upcoming Hari Raya celebrations extra special.
In a video posted on TikTok, Boss Mario shared how he took a petrol station worker and single mother, Kak Linda, along with her children, out for a heartwarming buka puasa session. This gesture followed their initial encounter at a Ramadan bazaar, where he first learned about her struggles. To brighten their spirits, he surprised them with various thoughtful gifts, leaving Kak Linda overwhelmed with emotion.
“I just wanted to help as much as I could to ease Kak Linda’s burdens throughout Ramadan. I hope she stays strong for her children, and I pray for my continued health and blessings. Inshaallah, we’ll meet again,” Boss Mario wrote.
A Familiar Face
Boss Mario’s kind gesture didn’t stop there. During their first encounter at the Ramadan bazaar in Melaka a week earlier, he discovered that Kak Linda had recently lost her husband to a heart attack just four months prior. Touched by her story, he gave her some cash and gifted her eldest son a brand-new phone.
More Surprises Await
Feeling that he hadn’t done enough, Boss Mario later invited Kak Linda and her children for a buka puasa meal. During this heartfelt gathering, he gifted Kak Linda’s younger son a new phone, presented Kak Linda with a bouquet of RM50 notes, and even provided the family with new Baju Raya outfits to ease their preparations for the festive season.
In the end, both Kak Linda and Boss Mario were moved to tears, sharing an emotional moment of compassion and gratitude.
Speaking to Harian Metro, Boss Mario revealed that his empathy stemmed from personal loss, as his father had passed away from lung cancer eight years ago.
“I know how hard it feels to celebrate Ramadan and Hari Raya without a loved one,” he expressed.
