A viral video from a Haidilao restaurant in Changsha, Hunan province, has taken social media by storm after a woman was seen physically attacking a man who insulted her hometown. The altercation occurred when a drunken stranger, claiming to be a lawyer from Hong Kong, began verbally berating Jiang Yan (姜颜), a transgender internet celebrity, and her friends. He belittled the people of Hunan, prompting a heated confrontation.

According to Taiwanese outlet SETN, the fight escalated when the intoxicated man hurled insults at the group, throwing objects in their direction. In one video, Jiang Yan can be seen furiously attacking the man on the floor as her friends attempt to break up the altercation. Jiang Yan later shared her side of the story on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, explaining that she initially ignored the man’s provocations. However, when her friends got involved, she felt compelled to stand up for them.

She added that the man struck her on the head with his mobile phone, which led her to retaliate in self-defense. Although authorities have yet to confirm the details of the incident, the videos have sparked a massive online conversation. Many netizens applauded Jiang Yan for standing her ground and defending her city. The incident has even been humorously dubbed “Haidilao MMA” by Chinese media, with some drawing comparisons between Jiang Yan’s fierce defense and the legendary Chinese hero, Wu Song, who famously battled a tiger.

While some have criticized the man’s behavior, many believe he got what he deserved, especially after the drunken insults aimed at Hunan. Jiang Yan’s swift response has turned her into a viral hero, celebrated for her determination to protect her friends and hometown.
