Malaysian Teen Slams Dad for Buying “Uncool” Motorbike, Shop Owner Steps In

Dad Buys Son A Motorbike To Celebrate License—Gets Slammed Instead

A Malaysian father who wanted to surprise his son with a brand-new motorbike gift was left humiliated when the teen openly rejected the present for not being “cool” enough. The moment, captured and recounted by a local shop owner, quickly went viral and stirred debate online.

RM6,000 Bike Bought with Good Intentions

According to TikTok user @nicholaschong2206, the father walked into his shop to buy a motorbike for his son who had just received his driving license. He paid in full for a model that was affordable and reliable—perfect, he thought, for school commutes.

Despite expressing concern that his son might not appreciate the surprise, he went ahead with the plan. Nicholas, the shop owner, however, advised him to bring his son to view the bike before it was registered.

Teen Reacts Badly: “This Bike Is Ugly”

Once the teen arrived, things took a turn. Upon seeing the bike, the boy’s reaction was instant—he frowned and criticised it harshly. The teen complained that the bike wasn’t up to his standards and didn’t match the style of what his friends were riding.

Nicholas calmly explained that the model the teen wanted cost almost double—RM11,000 to RM12,000—making it unreasonable under the current budget. Still, the teen wasn’t having it. He continued complaining about the brand, saying it looked “ugly” and wasn’t “cool.”

Shop Owner Gives Refund, Calls Out Entitled Attitude

With tensions rising and no compromise in sight, Nicholas decided to give the father a full refund.

In a video uploaded to TikTok, Nicholas vented his frustration.

“I wasn’t hurt because I didn’t close the sale. I was hurt seeing how the boy treated his father. He acted like he had no sense. If he thinks he’s so great, go earn his own money and buy the ‘cool’ bike himself.”

He also criticised the teen’s lack of gratitude and respect toward his parents, pointing out that gifts—especially expensive ones—should never be taken for granted.

Netizens Weigh In: Disappointed by Youth’s Attitude

The clip triggered a wave of responses, with many netizens siding with the father and the shop owner. Some called out the teenager for being spoiled, while others shared their own experiences of appreciating even the smallest gifts from their parents.

It’s a reminder that sometimes, the problem isn’t the gift—it’s the attitude.
