“NASA Astronauts Stranded in Space Until 2025? Sounds Like a Sci-Fi Movie!”

In a real-life twist that could rival a Hollywood blockbuster, two NASA astronauts, Barry Wilmore and Suni Williams, find themselves stuck in space in a situation eerily similar to the plot of The Martian.

The duo launched into space aboard the Boeing Starliner on June 5th, with plans for a quick, eight-day mission, according to Unilad. But now, they might be stuck up there for a whopping seven months.

It’s been over 60 days since they left the International Space Station (ISS), and things haven’t been going smoothly. Their spacecraft has suffered from multiple malfunctions, including five leaks, five maneuvering thrusters that have failed, and a valve that just won’t shut properly.

At first, there was serious concern that Wilmore, 61, and Williams, 58, only had about 72 days to survive. But now, it’s looking like they could be stranded in space until 2025.

NASA’s Commercial Crew Program Manager, Steve Stich, mentioned that if tests show their spacecraft is too risky for the journey back, the astronauts might have to hitch a ride home with SpaceX’s Crew-9. But here’s the kicker—the SpaceX mission won’t be ready until February.

Originally, the SpaceX flight was set to take off on August 18th, but delays have pushed it back to September 24th.

Looks like Wilmore and Williams might have to get comfortable in space for a lot longer than they expected!
