“No One Wants To Fight For Israel” – Marine Veteran Arrested After Disruption At US Senate Hearing

Protest Erupts During Senate Hearing

A dramatic confrontation unfolded at the US Capitol after a Marine veteran interrupted a Senate committee hearing and was forcibly removed by Capitol Police.

The man, identified as Brian McGinnis, reportedly disrupted the session while trying to question lawmakers about US military decisions and foreign policy.

The situation quickly escalated as officers attempted to escort him out of the hearing room.

“No One Wants To Fight For Israel”

During the struggle, McGinnis loudly shouted a statement that immediately drew attention online.

“No one wants to fight for Israel,” he yelled repeatedly while holding onto a door as officers tried to pull him away.

The remark was captured on video and quickly circulated across social media platforms, triggering widespread discussion and political debate.

Many viewers focused on the controversial statement itself, with some interpreting it as criticism of US foreign policy and military involvement in conflicts connected to Israel.

Others saw the outburst as a protest against sending American troops into overseas conflicts.

Senator Seen Helping Remove Protestor

Video footage posted by CBS News journalist Alan He shows three Capitol Police officers attempting to remove McGinnis from the room.

At one point, US Senator Tim Sheehy was seen assisting officers by helping lift McGinnis’ leg as they tried to pull him away from the doorway.

McGinnis was gripping the door frame tightly while continuing to shout his statement.

The confrontation lasted several moments before officers managed to remove him from the hearing.

Senator Calls Protestor “Unhinged”

Following the incident, Senator Tim Sheehy addressed the altercation in a statement posted online.

He described McGinnis as an “unhinged protestor” and said the man had come to the Capitol looking for a confrontation.

After the removal, Sheehy returned to his seat and the hearing resumed.

Multiple Charges Filed Against Veteran

Authorities later confirmed that McGinnis had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

According to reports citing Capitol Police, he faces:

  • Three counts of assaulting a police officer
  • Three counts of resisting arrest
  • One count of crowding, obstructing and incommoding

The charges stem from the physical struggle that occurred while officers attempted to remove him from the hearing room.

McGinnis Says He Wanted To Question The Senate

Earlier on the same day, McGinnis had posted a video from Capitol Hill explaining his reason for attending the hearing.

In the video, he said he wanted to ask senators why American soldiers might be sent into dangerous situations abroad.

He reportedly said he wanted to question lawmakers about “why they’re going to send our men and women into harm’s way.”

Veteran Reportedly Injured During Incident

After the confrontation, McGinnis was taken into custody and later transported to a hospital.

He later wrote on social media that his arm had been broken during the altercation.

However, a Green Party official working with him told CBS News that he did not assault the officers and disputed the allegations made against him.

Family Asks For Privacy

A statement shared by McGinnis’ family the following day said they would step back from public attention while he recovered from his injuries.

The message explained that the family wanted him to focus on his recovery privately.
